Leading researcher of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Elton Mammadov's article with scientists from Germany and Poland published in a scientific journal.

According to Tehsil.biz, the study used hybrid spatial models to model and digitally map the physical and chemical characteristics of soils on the basis of high-precision digital relief model and multispectral satellite data. The study found that the applied hybrid models can be used effectively in high-precision digital land mapping in mountainous areas. Despite the complex relief conditions of mountainous areas, the proposed models allow to detect local spatial relationships and model uncertainties. The research is one of the first international experiments in the field of high-precision digital land mapping in mountainous regions and can save a lot of money on land mapping in mountainous areas.
