A meeting with journalists was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​on July 15 on the occasion of the National Press Day on July 22. According to the Public Relations Department of the university, the rector of AUL, academician Kamal Abdulla said he was pleased to see journalists at the university.

 

Tehsil.biz reports that AUL has a high level of relations with the press, and innovations in the scientific and pedagogical life of the school, educational events are kept in focus by the media: “We have traditionally held meetings with media representatives at the university. However, due to the pandemic, there was a long break in the organization of meetings. National Press Day is coming on July 22. This is a very significant date. The press is our friends. You have a special opportunity to form public opinion. I thank all of you and ask you to convey my greetings and congratulations to every member of the media who is present and who is not. I believe that our relations will continue and develop. "

 

Academician Kamal Abdulla informed about the book "The image of Azerbaijan in the English, French and German-language media during the independence" prepared as a result of cooperation between the laboratories and departments of AUL. The rector said that the preparation of the book is an important and strategic issue. Members of AUL involved in the project will duly fulfill their responsibilities. The research laboratory of Azerbaijan Studies, Foreign Languages, Lexicology of French, Phonetics and Grammar of French, Phonetics and Grammar of German, other departments and centers cooperate in the preparation of the book. The first part of the book is ready and is scheduled for publication in September.

 

Then the media representatives were informed about the book "Onomastics of Truth" organized by the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism (BICM) and prepared by the Presidential Library of the Office of Presidential Affairs, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

 

The book, intended for specialists and the general public, provides the history and explanation of 737 settlements, 499 villages and settlements, 704 renamed administrative units, 231 oronyms, 116 hydronyms, 137 pastures and winter toponyms in Armenia, the ancestral homeland of Azerbaijanis.

 

Then, AUL Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Professor Novruz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Public Relations and Social Affairs, MP Tamam Jafarova congratulated on the National Press Day and spoke about the great role of the media in the development of society.

 

Editor-in-chief of "Iki Sahil" newspaper Vugar Rahimzade, head of Moderator.az News Agency Zulfugar Huseynzade and others shared their views on the relations of AUL with the media they represent, and said that close cooperation will continue.
