On October 15, UNICEF, the Ministry of Education and the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) signed a Joint Action Plan to expand the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Awareness (PSTM) partnership until 2022.

At the signing ceremony, UNICEF presented a Joint Action Plan to support children and families affected by the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in the Karabakh region and surrounding areas with the financial support of the European Union, in partnership with ANAMA and the Ministry of Education.

Explosive remnants of war and landmines remain one of the biggest threats to families living in conflict-affected areas. The program is expected to benefit 100,000 people, including about 20,000 children. Thanks to humanitarian assistance provided by the European Union, this program will contribute to the education of children and families. The program envisages various awareness-raising activities on the dangers of explosives, including needs assessment, the development of information materials, and community and school-based activities.
