In February-March 2021, a competition dedicated to prominent Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev was organized by the Moscow Department of Culture and supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Russian office. More than 300 young performers from Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Latvia, Poland, Italy and Hungary took part in the competition. The jury of the competition was chaired by People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Professor, Head of the Moscow Conservatory Faraj Garayev

According to SIA, students of the Art Gymnasium of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory participated in the competition and succeeded.
