The long-term research work of Varis Guliyev, head of the Fruit, Vegetable and Viticulture Laboratory of the Institute of Bioresources of the Nakhchivan Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Agrarian Sciences, Associate Professor, has been successful.

 

The researcher was awarded 6 patents by the Agrarian Services Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan for the newly created grape varieties “Nakhchivan nutmeg”, “Alinja”, “Oguz grape”, “Brown raisin”, “Milax grape”, “Banana grape” created by various genetic methods. issued a certificate of authorship.

 

 

Experienced ampelographer V.Guliyev has been engaged in purposeful scientific research in the field of genetics and selection of grape plants for about 40 years. The main purpose of the research is to study the gene pool of grapes in the autonomous republic, to study the economic and technological features, to identify application-oriented varieties, to obtain new varieties resistant to frost, disease and pests by selection. The long-term goal has already been achieved.

 

 

Adoption of the State Programs "On the development of viticulture in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2012-2020", "On the development of winemaking in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2018-2025" has stimulated intensive research on new applied grape varieties in the laboratory of fruits, vegetables and viticulture.
