An online conference was held in Sabirabad on the occasion of the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi.

Speaking at the online conference "Giant Sun of Our Poetry" organized by the Sabirabad Regional Culture Department, the director of the Saatli Museum of History and Ethnography Surayya Zeynalova gave detailed information about Nizami Ganjavi's personality and his rich creativity.

Speaking at the event, Vice President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philology, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Academician Isa Habibbayli spoke about the phenomenal human heritage and meaningful life of Nizami Ganjavi, a high national-moral, artistic-aesthetic, patriotic example.

MP Aziz Alakbarli said that Nizami's immortal literary heritage is not only humanism, love for people, high morals, aesthetic pleasure, a source of education and knowledge, a treasure of wisdom, but also our living history.

Speaking later, Farid Gurbanzadeh, head of the Sabirabad Regional Culture Department, noted that the announcement of 2021 as the "Year of Nizami Ganjavi" was a manifestation of respect for Azerbaijani culture. He spoke of raising poetry to unprecedented heights.
