Turkey's next satellite, TurkSAT 5A, has been launched.

On this occasion, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed a ceremony at the TurkSAT Center in Ankara's Golbasi region.

Speaking about Turkey's innovations in the satellite and space industry, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that TurkSAT 5B will be launched into orbit by the end of the year and TurkSAT 6A next year. After the launch of the TurkSAT 5B satellite, Turkey will increase its orbital transmission capacity by 15 times. Thus, countries in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Black Seas, Europe, the Middle East and most of Africa will be able to use this transmission.

It should be noted that TurkSAT 5A was launched into orbit on January 8 at 4:26 Ankara time (05:26 Baku time).

According to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the TurkSAT 5A satellite was launched from the Canaveral Cosmodrome in Florida by the Falcon-9 spacecraft. Thus, Turkey maintains its place among the countries that are expanding their satellites in space. Along with TurkSAT 5A, the country will continue to operate TurkSAT 3A, TurkSAT 4A and TurkSAT 4B satellites.
