Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) hosted a scientific seminar on "Cognitive errors in economic decision-making and their manifestation in behavior."
Researchers from the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom also attended the seminar, which was organized by the Department for Coordination and Organization of Research Centers and the UNEC Cognitive Economic Research Center.
Opening the seminar, Rena Huseynova, Head of the Coordination and Organization of Research Centers of UNEC, drew attention to the urgency of the topic and informed about the activities carried out by the center.
Head of the UNEC Cognitive Economics Research Center, Associate Professor Mansur Barkhudarov said that cognitive economy, a new field of science in the XXI century, is useful in terms of the interests of economics, as well as national economic interests.
Then Samir Huseynov, Deputy Head of the UNEC Center for Cognitive Economics, Professor of Auburn University, USA, made a presentation. He spoke about the motives of decision-making processes in classical economic models, and shared with the seminar participants a scientific explanation of the fact that cognitive errors in economic decision-making lead to unintended consequences in human behavior.
The seminar discussed the topic and answered the questions of the participants.
