Graduates of the Azerbaijan Medical University work in many countries around the world in various specialties, achieving success in both medical practice and science. One of them - gynecologist Elvin Piriyev has recently been awarded a prestigious international award.
Elvin Piriyev, who currently works in Germany and was awarded the title of 2nd degree minimally invasive surgeon, has won the award of the German endoscopic society AGE (Arbeitsgemeinschaft gynäkologische Endoskopie). This was reported in the newspaper Kölner Wochenspiegel.
According to Piriyev, the AGE Society annually establishes three awards in the field of gynecological endoscopy. Among the winners this year, his scientific work was awarded as one of the 3 best researches: “Currently, 6 scientific articles have been published in international journals. One of the articles was published in a German-language magazine. A few months ago, I was awarded the title of MIC-II (2nd degree mini-invasive surgeon) by the German Society of Gynecological Endoscopy and became the youngest doctor in the country to receive this title.
After graduating from AMU in 2012, Piriyev went to Germany, where he won a scholarship for a project jointly organized by the DAAD and the Ministry of Health. In 2018, he rose to the level of specialist doctor (facharzt). Later, he was awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in medicine at the University of Witten / Herdecke. Piriyev also represents the German-Azerbaijani gynecological society.
