On July 5, 2021, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) hosted a webinar on "Let's learn the truth about drugs" dedicated to "June 26, the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking."

 

Speaking at the online webinar on the Zoom platform, AzTU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations Kamran Rasulov said that anti-drug measures are always in the focus of attention in Azerbaijan and spoke about the relevant state programs in this direction.

 

Ragif Allahverdiyev, Head of the National Information Sector of the State Commission for Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking of the Republic of Azerbaijan, gave detailed information on the implementation of state programs and relevant legislative acts approved by the country's leadership. Then, an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, police lieutenant colonel Vugar Mansurov reported on crimes committed in Azerbaijan in connection with the illegal manufacture, production, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors. spoke with.

 

Teachers of the Department of Humanities and Foreign Languages ​​of AzTU expressed their views on "Complications of drug addiction and the fight against it."

 

The webinar provided detailed information on the negative effects of drug addiction on people's lives and health, moral values ​​and socio-economic development, the legal framework for combating the consequences of drug addiction and other issues.

 

The discussions around the reports were met with interest by the webinar participants.

 

It should be noted that June 26 is celebrated worldwide as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
