Two employees of the Azerbaijan Technical University - press secretary Sevinj Isgandarov and editor-in-chief of "Ziya" newspaper Mushfig Borchali were awarded the "Golden Pen" on the occasion of the National Press Day on July 22. AzTU employees were awarded this prize by the decision of the Trade Union of Mass Media.

It should be noted that the "Golden Pen" award was presented to the best, active, professional journalists by the Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan from 1970 to 1991.

In the 2000s, the award was presented by the Mass Media Trade Union (MWTU).
