The next meeting of the Rector's Council of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) was held.
Political analyst Arye Guta, head of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism's office in Israel, was awarded the diploma of "Honorary Professor" of the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
Rector of AUL, Academician Kamal Abdulla said that Arye Gut closely participates in the events, master classes, round tables and meetings of the Department of Regional Studies of the Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies, the Center for Israel and Middle East Studies. His more than 700 articles on the Karabakh conflict, the Khojaly tragedy, and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations are being studied by teachers and students. Taking all this into account, at the meeting of the Academic Council of the University on June 3, it was decided to award Arye Guta the title of "Honorary Professor".
Arye Gut thanked the leadership and faculty of AUL for this high title, spoke about the glorious victory of the Azerbaijani state during the 44-day Patriotic War and its great achievements in the field of diplomacy.
Then the 80th anniversary of Professor Gorkhmaz Guliyev was celebrated. Academician Kamal Abdulla praised Guliyev's scientific and pedagogical activity and shared his views on his human qualities. Noting that Guliyev is a well-known intellectual in Azerbaijan and the world, the rector added that on the basis of the contract he will contribute to the development of masters and doctoral students of the Azerbaijan University of Languages and share their high scientific potential with them.
Guliyev thanked K.Abdullah and the university staff for their attention: “I love each of you very much. I have been attached to this university since 1961. I am proud that I studied and worked at this university. I have students, friends and brothers here. Kamal and I have known each other since our youth. We have worked together, we have always had mutual sympathy and respect for each other. Thank you again for your attitude to me. "
