The statistics of students coming to Azerbaijan from Ukraine for higher education has been made public.

Lyudmila Marchenko, a member of the Ukrainian parliament's Legislative Subcommittee and a member of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani interparliamentary working group, told Report's Eastern Europe bureau.

"Over the past five years, we have seen an increase in the number of students leaving Ukraine for Azerbaijan. This dynamic will obviously increase. According to the Ministry of Education, 1,200 Ukrainian students study at Azerbaijani universities today. There are documents applied between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, so we see growth. Today, Ukrainian students are interested in Azerbaijan, the format of information voiced in universities, and there is a demand for these students in the labor market. This is one of the right directions for the development of relations between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. They study mainly in engineering. Because Ukraine needs this area, "he said.
