In 2021, the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ashig Alasgar, a prominent representative of the Azerbaijani art of ashug, a powerful master of words, will be celebrated.

In accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated February 18, 2021 on the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Ashig Alasgar, Baku State University has developed an Action Plan in this direction. In accordance with the Action Plan, in order to widely study and promote the rich poetic heritage of the great master of words Ashig Alasgar, who raised the ashug poetry to the top, at BSU, Gazakh branch of BSU, College of Economics and Humanities under BSU and "Young Talents" lyceum under BSU scientific conference, seminar, round table, exhibition, etc. It is planned to hold events.
