Senior specialist of the Department of Technology Transfer and Innovation of Baku State University, PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Tofig Hasan oglu Huseynov has died.

Tofig Huseynov, who died at the age of 70, studied at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of BSU in 1968-1973. He started his pedagogical activity at BSU in 1973. In 1981 he defended his dissertation on "Asymptotics of the solution of the optimal control problem for a system of singular-excited integral differential equations and some of its features."

In 1999-2000 he was a member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

T.Huseynov was one of 91 well-known Azerbaijani intellectuals who appealed to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in October 1992 to save the country from the difficult situation.

In 2000, he was awarded the Order of Glory by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
