The United States Ambassador visited Nakhchivan State University

On August 17, a delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Azerbaijan Earl Litzenberger visited Nakhchivan State University as part of his official visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

During the bilateral meeting, Seymur Talibov, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Doctor of Philosophy in Law, expressed satisfaction with the delegation's visit to the university. The vice-rector noted the material and technical base of the university, modern teaching methods, faculties and existing specialties, achievements in the field of international relations and relations with higher education institutions. It was noted that 5588 students in 61 specialties, 348 masters in 81 specialties, 107 doctoral students in 52 specialties at the doctoral level and 52 residents in 24 specialties study in full-time and part-time departments of bachelor's degree. More than a thousand foreign students from 9 countries are studying at the university. 451 professors and teachers are engaged in teaching students. Nakhchivan State University has twice been awarded the first place in the ranking of universities of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the application of new technologies, the level of education, mastery and attendance.

Expressing gratitude for the cordial meeting and detailed information about the university, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Azerbaijan Earl Litzenberger said that this was his first visit to Nakhchivan.

Highly appreciating the activity of Nakhchivan State University, Orl Litzenberger noted that the American embassy cooperates with a number of higher education institutions of Azerbaijan, conducts trainings and exchange programs for teachers and management. One of the main goals of the implemented projects is to improve the quality of English language teaching in higher education institutions and secondary schools in Azerbaijan, as well as exchange programs for both bachelor's and master's degrees.

The ambassador noted that the purpose of the meeting held at the university is to strengthen cooperation with Nakhchivan State University in the future, to ensure the participation of teaching staff and students in the organized programs.

During the meeting, the future prospects of joint cooperation were discussed in detail and views were exchanged.

Ambassador Orl Litzenberger wrote his heartfelt words in the university's memory book.
