The Institute of History of ANAS prepares a number of important publications on the history of Zangazur.
The Public Relations Department of the Institute told Report that in accordance with the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of History, a unique source on the history of Zangazur, a camera description of Zangazur district for 1832-1833 has already been published.
It was stated that the camera image was a form of population registration conducted by the Russian Empire for economic and fiscal purposes.
It was noted, however, that this source also provides information on the restoration of the genealogy of the people living there, place names and other issues. In short, it has a significant role in the restoration of history.
The report also says that the camera image of 1832-1833 allows us to trace the historical Azerbaijani lands of Zangazur and the changes in the ethno-demographic composition of the population as a result of the resettlement of Armenians. The book was prefaced by the Director General of the Institute of History, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Karim Shukurov. The book was prepared for publication by Doctor of Philosophy Nazir Ahmadli.
New publications on the history of Zangazur will be published in the near future.
