10th and 11th grade students of the Lyceum named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva visited the Azerbaijan-French University (UFAZ) operating under the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry (ADNSU).

At the meeting held within the Energy4me project organized by the Society of Oil and Gas Engineers (SPE ASOIU Chapter) consisting of UFAZ and ADNSU students, the students first got acquainted with the building, laboratory and material and technical base of UFAZ. The students were informed about the specialties taught at the university, the opportunities offered by UFAZ, the education and teaching methods conducted here.

Then the students were informed about renewable and non-renewable energy sources. They learned about the history of oil, Azerbaijan's role in this field, oil and gas research, global changes towards sustainability, its pros and cons, and current projects in Azerbaijan.

After the presentation and quiz, students had the opportunity to conduct experiments on "Natural oil leak formation and process model" and "Oil, gas and water behavior in reservoirs" in the laboratories of UFAZ, founded in 2018, with the most exclusive technical capabilities in Azerbaijan.

Students working in teams of 3 observed that with the help of the first experiment, different layers of different substances (water, oil, syrup) were created according to their densities, and then the added materials such as grapes, sponges and bolts were at different levels due to density.

In the second experiment with oil leaks, students observed that oil droplets rise above the layers of oil and sand, soil, and water by adding clay and then water.

At the end, the students were presented with a certificate by SPE representatives.
