Rector of the Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) Elmar Gasimov met with the newly appointed head of the British Council in Azerbaijan Francis Gardener-Trejo and the outgoing head of the country Samr Shah.

Welcoming the guests, Rector Elmar Gasimov informed about the High School, noting that BANM attaches special importance to quality, and the entrants with the highest results in the entrance exams in Azerbaijan choose this High School. The rector noted that BANM is fully English-language, closely cooperates with British universities, and is one of two universities in Azerbaijan that use Turnitin's anti-plagiarism Internet service. We also train highly qualified personnel for foreign companies, and our graduates work in reputable companies. BANM is successfully implementing the strategy of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev "Transformation of oil capital into human capital."

Referring to the cooperation between the British Council and BANM, the rector said that the university has been cooperating with the organization in the field of English language teaching and IELTS exams since its inception, and a number of major projects have been implemented since then. paid special attention. Another example of our successful cooperation is the opening of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in Azerbaijan for the first time in June at the Baku Higher Oil School. This center, which is the fifth in the world, makes a great contribution to the development of cooperation. I am confident that high-level cooperation will continue. "

The new head of the British Council, Francis Gardener-Trejo, said he intends to further expand high-level cooperation between the organization and BANM.

In his turn, Samr Shah, the outgoing head of the British Council in Azerbaijan, said that BANM is one of the organization's closest partners: “During my tenure in Azerbaijan, you have been very supportive. A clear example of our successful cooperation with the British Council and the Baku Higher Oil School is that the university where the new leader met for the first time in Azerbaijan was BANM. Although the leaders of the organization have changed, I believe that the tradition of successful cooperation with the University will continue, and many major projects will be signed in the future. Given that your students are taking the IELTS test, we suggest that the British Council conduct an IELTS test on campus for BANM students. ”

The rector welcomed the proposal and thanked Samr Shah for his contribution to the development of educational relations between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom during his tenure, as well as cooperation with BANM. Elmar Gasimov expressed confidence that the new leader will further expand cooperation.
