The project of the BMU employee was awarded the third place in the competition "Renewed face of ancient Karabakh"

Nikrouz Forouzandeh, a senior lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering at Baku Engineering University (BMU), took part in a competition entitled "Renewed Face of Ancient Karabakh" organized by the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture. Thus, according to the decision of the jury, the project presented by him together with the young architect Abdul Karimov was awarded the 3rd place in Sarijali village of Aghdam region.

The competition was organized in order to systematically carry out restoration work in the liberated territories, to ensure the participation of the country's architects and urban planning specialists in the reconstruction process in Karabakh.

The competition covered Sarijali village of Aghdam region, Horadiz village of Fuzuli region, Boyuk Marjanli village and Khudaferin settlement of Jabrayil region, Zar village of Kalbajar region, Shalva village of Lachin region. The participants presented a project of the area according to their wishes. The projects were evaluated on the analysis of the current state of settlements, their relationship to the historical context, originality, symbolism, integrity, as well as successful and professional artistic-graphic and architectural solutions, visual presentations.

It should be noted that the competition was attended mainly by young professionals and a number of interesting project solutions were put forward. The winning projects will be taken into account in the reconstruction work in the villages.
