The 2021-2022 academic year will start on September 22. According to the decision of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers, the vaccination process has been accelerated in order to reduce the number of infections and strengthen control over the epidemiological situation.

Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev said, “80 percent of educators have already been vaccinated. There are a small number of educators who have not been vaccinated, and I believe they will be vaccinated before the schools open, ”he said, but did not specify what decision would be made about teachers who were not vaccinated.

According to information received by Modern.az from various schools in Baku, the principals discussed the issues of the new school year with teachers. Teachers who did not get the COVID-19 vaccine were given a final warning. Teachers who do not receive a single dose of the vaccine by the beginning of the school year will not be paid class hours and salaries.

Jasarat Valehov, the spokesman for the Ministry of Education, told the website that it is dangerous and unacceptable for anyone who does not vaccinate in a pandemic to teach at school.
