According to the amendment to the Cabinet of Ministers' decision "On measures to extend the special quarantine regime and remove some restrictions", COVID-19 passports are required for all persons over 18 years of age studying at higher and secondary vocational education institutions.
Higher education institutions have created a system for checking students' COVID-19 passport, immune certificate or contraindication certificate.
However, one of the current points of interest is the percentage of students in universities who do not have a COVID-19 passport or immune certificate.
Spokeswoman for the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Sevinj Isgandarov told Trend that in accordance with the decisions of the Operative Staff, all students over the age of 18 were required to have a COVID-19 passport or immune certificate to participate in traditional classes.
"As you know, classes at the Azerbaijan Technical University are organized both traditionally and online. 91% of students submitted these documents. 9% of students are not allowed to attend traditional classes because they do not have a COVID-19 passport or immune certificate. Students who did not submit the above-mentioned documents were repeatedly contacted and the decision of the Operational Staff was brought to their attention. "
Press Secretary of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) Aga Jafarov noted that the university is organized in accordance with the existing instructions of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Education:
"Students over the age of 18 must have a COVID-19 passport or immune certificate. Unvaccinated students are not allowed into the university building. At present, no cause for concern has been reported."
Najiba Mirzayeva, head of the Press and Information Department of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AUAC), also said that the total number of students aged 18 and over studying at the university is 5,116:
"According to the latest statistics, 686 out of 5,116 students have not been vaccinated. 96 students could not participate in the vaccination process due to coronavirus infection. 87 students have a counter-instruction certificate. ”
It should be noted that, from September 29, teaching has traditionally started in V-XI grades of general education institutions, as well as in out-of-school, vocational, secondary and higher education institutions.
