On October 15, 2021, Lankaran State University (LSU) together with Mingachevir State University (MSU) hosted a scientific-theoretical conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Tehsil.biz, the conference, which was attended by a delegation of MSU leaders and academic staff visiting Lankaran, provided online participation of teachers and students from both universities through the Microsoft Teams platform.
The conference began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who gave their lives and blood for our independence.
Welcoming the conference participants, LSU Rector Natig Ibrahimov expressed satisfaction with seeing the MSU staff in Lankaran, which has recently moved forward with confidence on the path of modernization, and congratulated them on this significant historical day.
The rector of LSU said that although Azerbaijan gained the opportunity to gain independence twice in a century, to create its own sovereign state, unfortunately, the first opportunity was lost due to foreign intervention, internal strife and lack of international guarantees. able to live. Emphasizing that the second historical situation arose after 70 years, the rector noted that the collapse of the Soviet empire allowed the Azerbaijani people to restore their national independence.
N.Ibrahimov said that Azerbaijan has become one of the world's politically and economically powerful countries as a result of the purposeful policy pursued by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and his worthy successor Ilham Aliyev over the past 30 years. He praised Azerbaijan as a great success. It was noted that thanks to this victory, our country has become a spokesman in the region, and its prestige in domestic and foreign policy has increased.
Congratulating the conference participants on the anniversary of the restoration of independence, the rector of Moscow State University Shahin Bayramov expressed satisfaction with the celebration of this significant date together with LSU, one of the constantly renewed higher education institutions in the region.
Emphasizing that our independence has become eternal and irreversible due to the wise policy of the architect of the modern Azerbaijani state Heydar Aliyev, Bayramov noted that the successful policy pursued under the leadership of the worthy political successor of the national leader Ilham Aliyev has strengthened the statehood He noted that the national and moral values have been preserved. It was noted that the high attention and care of the state, which covers all spheres of public life, is clearly reflected in the modern development of education.
Evaluating the historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War thanks to the leadership of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the invincibility of the invincible Azerbaijani Soldier as the most glorious page in the history of our independence, the rector gave our independent and sovereign development He wished success to the conference.

At the end of the conference, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between MSU and LSU. According to the five-year memorandum, student-teacher exchanges will be held between partner universities, joint scientific events will be organized, and scientific cooperation will be expanded.

It should be noted that during the visit, the MSU delegation got acquainted with the new educational buildings, scientific library, laboratories, tourism-experimental base, student dormitory, canteen and other infrastructure facilities of LSU.
