October 16, 2021 marks one year since the martyrdom of Kanan Abdullayev, a graduate of Mingachevir State University (MSU).

On this occasion, a group of students and teachers of the University, visiting the Alley of Martyrs in Mingachevir, organized by the Center for Student Patriotic Development of Moscow State University, laid flowers at the grave of the heroic graduate and paid tribute to his memory.

Sharing their memories of the student years of the martyred graduate, the teachers expressed their deep respect to the people of Azerbaijan to the parents who raised a brave, patriotic and courageous son like Kenan.

Noting that they are proud of the heroic soldiers and officers who showed courage in writing the glorious pages of our history, the members of the MSU staff thanked all the martyrs who died for the liberation of our ancient lands from enemy occupation, and wished healing to the veterans.

It was noted that the lieutenant of the Azerbaijani Army, 29-year-old Kanan Abdullayev studied at MSU in 2011-2015. The heroic graduate of the university, who rose to the status of a martyr in the battles in the direction of Sugovushan on October 16, 2020, was awarded the medal "For the Motherland" in accordance with the relevant order of the President.

It should be noted that 4 employees of MSU, more than 120 students and graduates took part in the 44-day historic victory march, which put an end to thirty years of longing for the homeland, and 5 graduates rose to the peak of martyrdom. The MSU, which pays special attention to the patriotic upbringing of students, focuses on perpetuating the names of martyred graduates, always honoring their memory and promoting their heroism among the younger generation. The Student Patriotism Development Center has been established at the university to coordinate activities in this direction quickly and effectively.
