The Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) Sports Department and the Society of Petroleum Engineers jointly organized a three-day Tennis Championship dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Higher School.

65 students studying at Baku Higher Oil School, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Khazar University, UFAZ, Baku State University, ADA, Baku Engineering University, Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy took part in the championship, Tehsil.biz reports. The championship was organized among girls and boys in accordance with the competition format. The judges of the competition were Iftikhar Maharramov, the head teacher of the Sports Department of BANM, and Rafig Lahijov and Fakhri Abdullayev, the champions and masters of table tennis of Azerbaijan.

The preliminary qualifying rounds of the championship took place on October 1-2. The 16 students who successfully passed this stage took part in the 1/8, 1/4, semifinal and final games on October 9. According to the final results, the winner of the girls 'championship Chichek Bayramova (BANM, 5th year student of Chemical Engineering), the winner of the boys' championship Cahid Ibrahimli (BANM, 3rd year student of Chemical Engineering), the 2nd place winner Javidan Aliyev (BANM, 4th year student of Chemical Engineering) and champion Shukran Alizade (BANM, 4th year student of Chemical Engineering). In addition to medals and trophies, the winners were awarded valuable prizes by BP and Baker Hughes.
