On October 21, 2021, Mingachevir State University (MSU) was represented at the international conference "KNEU Internationalization Strategy: New Approaches" dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the Kiev National Economic University (KNEU).
Rector of Moscow State University Shahin Bayramov took part in the conference, which was attended by heads of well-known higher education institutions of Ukraine, the United States, Germany, Italy, Georgia and other countries.
Opening the conference, which was held online on the Zoom platform, KNEU Rector Dmitry Lukianenko spoke about the importance of the internationalization of universities, the strategic goals of the university and the prospects for international cooperation.
Emphasizing the importance of the TEMPUS project "Development and improvement of university governance in the field of international relations (UNIVIA)" successfully implemented in the development of KNEU's internationalization strategy, D. Lukianenko thanked the project manager Sh. Bayramov for his support in developing cooperation in this direction.
Welcoming the conference participants, the rector of Moscow State University Sh. Bayramov noted that internationalization, which is one of the main components of university management, has become one of the main trends in the world higher education. Speaking about the importance of internationalization in terms of finding partner universities, attracting foreign students and academic staff, international accreditation, the rector said that this process has created ample opportunities for increasing multicultural values in the content of education and the university's international ranking.
It was noted that the effectiveness of the internationalization strategy depends on the extent to which it takes into account the goals of the university and the trends in the international higher education space.
Giving detailed information about the UNIVIA project implemented in 2013-2017 with the support of the European Commission and coordinated by the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, the rector said that the project benefited Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and studied the experience of prestigious universities in the UK, Spain and Italy.
Talking about the recent development of cooperation between KNEU and MSU, Bayramov shared his views on the development of existing cooperation. Expressing his congratulations on the 115th anniversary of KNEU, one of the most modern and rich universities in the friendly country, the rector wished success to the conference.
The panel discussions were followed by a wide exchange of views on the topic with the heads and officials of the Ukrainian offices of the Erasmus and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) programs, participating universities.
It should be noted that the development of international cooperation is in the focus of attention at MSU, which aims to become a university of a new era, and for this purpose, special attention is paid to the implementation of joint activities with partner universities in various formats.
