Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) is a leader among the universities of our country in terms of the number of foreign students. Citizens of about 40 countries study at the university and learn the secrets of the medical profession.

Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Orkhan Isayev said that currently 2,300 foreign students and residents from 39 countries study at AMU. Among them are Turkey, Pakistan, Great Britain, USA, Russia, Israel, Nigeria, Bangladesh, India, Iraq, Iran, Syria and others. It should be noted: "The first place among the number of foreigners studying at the university is occupied by students and residents from Turkey."

The vice-rector noted that until the 2020-2021 academic year, foreigners could study only in Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. From 2021 to 2022, foreign citizens can apply for public health education: "Currently, work is underway to create conditions for representatives of other countries to study nursing and physiotherapy."

As for the provision of dormitories for foreign students, according to Isayev, AMU has 6 dormitories, and foreign students have the opportunity to use it.
