This year's winners of the Movsum bey Khanlarov scholarship have been determined for the students of the Azerbaijan-French University (UFAZ) operating under the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry.

The scholarship is intended for 12 UFAZ students, 3 people from each specialty at the bachelor's level, 12 people studying in II, III and IV courses, and 2 people from each specialty at the master's level, 6 people studying in the second year.

The winners of the scholarships were awarded by a jury headed by Professor Pierre Collet of the University of Strasbourg. The selection was made among the students who showed the best results in each specialty in the 2020/2021 academic year.

It should be noted that Movsum bey Khanlarov successfully defended his doctoral dissertation at the Scientific Council of the University of Strasbourg in 1883 at the age of 26 and received the degree of Doctor of Chemical Sciences. That is why the Movsum bey Khanlarov Scholarship, the first Azerbaijani to receive a doctorate from the University of Strasbourg at UFAZ, was established in 2019.

The amount of the scholarship established in the name of Movsum bey Khanlarov is 130 manat for bachelor's degree and 150 manat for master's degree. The scholarship will cover a period of study, from July 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022. Payment of the pension is carried out at the expense of the state budget. Assignment of Movsum bey Khanlarov pension does not exclude the right of the pensioner to receive other pensions provided by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
