Head of Department, Soroka University, Israel, Professor Dr. Mickey Gideon visited the Teaching Surgery Clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU).

During the meeting, the director of the clinic, Professor Surkhay Hadiyev, gave detailed information about the medical institution, as well as the history of AMU, its activities in modern times and its achievements, Tehsil.biz reports. He also shared the results of 2020, which is fateful for Azerbaijan: “Last year, Azerbaijan fought for the liberation of its occupied lands and won. AMU graduates and doctors were able to set an example both in this field and in the fight against another enemy - the coronavirus. We became one of the first clinics in the country to participate in the fight against COVID.

Professor S.Hadiyev said that all kinds of operations were performed in the Teaching Surgery Clinic, which consists of 16 operating blocks and 14 departments, the institution is equipped with the latest technological equipment, which allows students to conduct clinical classes at a high level.

Prof. Dr. Mickey Gideon, Head of the Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Soroka State University, Israel, personally got acquainted with the conditions created at the AMU Teaching Surgery Clinic.

It should be noted that the foreign expert is visiting Baku at the invitation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. During the visit, Professor M. Gideon delivered a lecture on "Modern technologies in neurosurgery" to teachers, residents and students of the Azerbaijan Medical University.
