Baku Engineering University (BMU) hosted an "open lesson" dedicated to the Day of Remembrance on September 27 and Victory Day on November 8.
The event was attended by BMU Vice-Rector for Education, Professor Hamzaga Orujov, Vice-Rector for Education Bayram Huseynzade, Deputy Dean for Education of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction Parviz Mammadov.
Khagan Balayev, associate professor of the General Sciences Department, made a presentation on the Patriotic War at the "open lesson" organized for second-year students majoring in industrial engineering. He stressed that the next provocations committed by Armenians in September 2020 made the start of the war inevitable and the Azerbaijani army launched a counter-offensive against the occupying Armenian armed forces. Balayev informed the students about the history of independent Azerbaijan and the course of the war, saying that for 44 days our ancient lands were liberated at the cost of the blood and lives of heroic martyrs. As a result of Operation Iron Fist, the enemy was routed and the Azerbaijani Army, under the leadership of Muzaffar Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, restored the country's territorial integrity.
The event focused on the war crimes committed by the enemy, who could not stand the victory march of the Azerbaijani Army during the 44-day war, targeting innocent civilians in order to shake the will of our people, as well as reduce the fighting spirit of our army. It was stressed that the shelling of Azerbaijani cities with ballistic missiles, phosphorus and cluster bombs is a real war crime and contrary to international law.
In addition, the "open lesson" spoke about the signing of the act of capitulation by Armenians, the Victory Parade in 2020, as well as the march of Azerbaijanis living abroad in solidarity with the Armenian aggression during the war.
Speaking at the event, the head of the Department of General Sciences, Associate Professor Bilal Dedayev stressed that the 44-day war was written in glorious letters in our history, today's students are a happy generation, as well as citizens of the victorious country.
Students' questions were answered in the interactive "open lesson".
