SOCAR and its partners in the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) and the British Council held a signing ceremony to finance the project "Improving the English language skills of students studying in SABAH master's groups".
The document was signed by Fuad Ahmadov, Executive Director of SOCAR Midstream, and Francis Gardener-Trejo, Director of the British Council for Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, Minister of Education Emin Amrullayev, British Ambassador to Azerbaijan James Sharp, Rector of Baku Engineering University (BMU), Professor Havar Mammadov, SABAH Master's Program Cyber Security Program Manager t.e.f.d. Gunay Abdiyeva-Aliyeva, as well as rectors and program managers of other universities participating in the project.
Under a 10-month project implemented by the British Council (from October 2021 to July 2022), 372 students studying in SABAH Master's groups at 7 universities will improve their English language skills in 150 academic hours. The aim of the project is to continuously improve the quality of education in Azerbaijan, to achieve direct access of talented graduate students to modern scientific literature.
According to the document, under the SABAH project, BMU masters in "Cyber Security" will also join the training on English language levels by the British Council with the support of SOCAR.
