What does recognition mean? Recognition of a qualification obtained in a foreign country means that an individual has the right to continue their education at local higher education institutions on an equivalent (equal rights) qualification and/or to engage in professional activities related to that qualification within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The recognition service is fee-based. According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 24, 2020, approved under number 507, which outlines the "List of services related to the recognition of higher education qualifications from foreign countries and the fees for these services," applicants must pay 250 AZN for the acceptance of documents and the conduct of an expert evaluation regarding the recognition of higher education qualifications from foreign countries. In cases of loss or damage to the recognition certificate, a fee of 20 AZN is required for obtaining a duplicate.
According to the Education Quality Assurance Agency, registration is carried out through an electronic application system. During registration, the provided email address and mobile number must be actively used, as updates regarding the applications will be communicated regularly through these channels.
To ensure user convenience, the Education Quality Assurance Agency has established a database for verifying the authenticity of the submitted documents. Through this database, information can be obtained about relevant diplomas recognized within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as to verify the authenticity of various electronic certificates obtained by applicants during the evaluation process.
