The article, co-authored by Flora Hajiyeva, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Physics of Nanomaterials, Baku State University (BSU) and Habiba Shirinova, a teacher of the department, was published in the high-impact journal Composite Interface (IF-2.74). .

The article synthesizes new hybrid polymer nanocomposite materials based on thermoplastic polyvinylidene fluoride and semiconductor cadmium sulfide and zinc sulfide nanoparticles, and studies their structure and properties. It has been found that when CdS / ZnS nanoparticles are incorporated into a polyvinylidene fluoride polymer, a wide wavelength expansion of the spectral-sensitive region of the nanocomposites underlying them occurs. This shows that these materials can be used as an active element of solar cells, batteries, converters. Also, the photosensitivity observed in PVDF + CdS / ZnS-based nanocomposite layers allows them to be used as elastic photoresistors.

Composite Interface is one of the world's leading journals in the field of composites for polymer nanocomposites, interfacial events in polymer nanocomposites, interfacial compatibility, interfacial morphology, aerospace, automotive, electronics, construction, marine, optical and biomedical industries.
