A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) and the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan on July 15.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the lecture hall of the Heydar Aliyev School of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, the rector of the university, Professor Jafar Jafarov, greeted the guests and noted that this year the university celebrates its 100th anniversary. but also a generalization of the results obtained so far is a historic opportunity to apply new approaches to this foundation in accordance with the requirements of modern times. Among such works, the training of personnel who will meet the social challenges against the background of modern development of society is of special importance. In this regard, the cooperation of the agency with the university is very important from a scientific-practical and practical point of view. At present, social work is carried out at the Faculty of History and Geography of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, and at the Faculty of Preschool Education in accordance with the specialties of social and psychological services in education. Also, from 2020, bachelors in all specialties will study at ADPU on the basis of newly developed programs. Within the framework of the cooperation, new training and experience for students of these and other specialties and training opportunities in accordance with the requirements of the social order will be useful for the Agency in terms of human resources and scientific-practical, research cooperation.

Vugar Behbudov, Chairman of the Board of the Agency, said that the organization, established by the decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev in 2019 as part of the social policy pursued in recent years, implements social and psycho-sociological rehabilitation measures and now has 29 branches and 13 social is at the service of citizens with the service enterprise. The Agency is also involved in the implementation of the new social package adopted for the post-war period. To meet all these needs, the organization pays special attention to working with young people. The signed memorandum is an important step in this direction and also creates conditions for the training of young professionals in the environment and on the basis of a program in accordance with the requirements of the new era.

Speakers at the ceremony included ADPU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Professor Asaf Zamanov, Vice-Rector for Social and Humanitarian Affairs, Professor Fikret Rzayev, Dean of the Faculty of History and Geography, Associate Professor Asif Akhundov, Dean of the Faculty of Preschool Education, Associate Professor Shahla Aliyeva, Philosophy and Social Sciences. Vusal Abdullayev, head teacher of the department, and Sara Agayeva, head of the department for work with social enterprises of the Social Services Agency, said that the establishment of a working group for effective implementation and accountability of the process, as well as involvement of students in other related specialties in internships, trainings and conferences. Conducting joint research in the field of service is one of the important issues, and ADPU's long experience in this field, having the largest network in the country, the preparation of the first textbook in the field of social work for universities are also important factors.
