11 archeological expeditions of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of ANAS have been completed since the beginning of 2021.

The statement came from the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography in response to a Trend inquiry.

Archaeological expeditions have completed their work in the following regions:

3) Ordubad
4) Imishli and Bilasuvar
5) Ağdam
6) Tovuz (Goytapa settlement)
7) Keshikchidag State Historical and Cultural Reserve
8) Naphthalene
9) Helpful
10) Gusar (Rose)
11) Agjabedi (Galatapa)

Another 19 archeological expeditions continue their research during the year:

1) Ganja-Gazakh
2) Mingachevir
3) Ganja-Gazakh
4) Khinalig State Historical and Cultural Reserve
5) Lahij
6) Baku-Absheron
7) Pentagon State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve
8) Ağstafa
9) Karabakh and surrounding liberated territories
10) Barda (Shortepa) and Tartar (Tokmaktepe)
11) Sheki ("Yukharibash" and "Kish")
12) Goranboy (Gypsy)
13) Fuzuli (Lalatapa)
14) Gadabay (Small Garamurad)
15) Babek (Nakhchivan, Meydantepe)
16) Salyan (Kirkhchirag) and Lankaran (Ballabur)

It is also noted that 3 ethnographic expeditions, research in Sheki-Gakh, Gazakh-Agstafa and Ganja-Shamkir areas are planned to begin in the coming weeks. During the year, at the request of local authorities, employees of the institute were sent to different regions to inspect the monuments and cultural artifacts found during construction and economic work.
