Opening the event after the report of the teacher of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, volleyball coach Nazim Aliyev on the readiness of the parade, the rector of the university Elbrus Isayev spoke about the work done to develop sports, which is the basis of state youth policy. It was noted that new ones are added to the success of the university in the field of sports every year. Mass competitions in many sports are regularly held at the university, and university students succeed. The rector also noted that the students deservedly represented our autonomous republic in international competitions, and wished the teams success.

Chairman of the sports club Mammadali Rahimov said that the university holds classes in 15 sports three times a week. Noting that every student studying at the university can participate in the sports club, Mammadali Rahimov informed about the rules of the competition.

Abbas Mammadov, a second-year student majoring in coaching, spoke about his achievements in sports and said that he had won many international competitions.

Then the volleyball tournament started. A total of 10 teams, one from each faculty, participated in the competition. Among the teams that qualified for the quarterfinals, the Faculty of Pedagogy won. The Faculty of Architecture and Engineering took the second place, and the Faculty of International Relations and Law took the third place.

It should be noted that the qualifying competitions in other sports will continue according to the schedule.
